Registration to a seminar in Europahuset 25 April - German elections

2017 is a year of a series of important European elections, one of which are the German parliamentary elections in September. This seminar will address key aspects of Germany's EU-related policies, such as security and defence policy, EMU, the financing of the EU. How could shifts in the German political landscape affect these areas? Will Brexit affect Germany's stance?

Katarina Areskoug Mascarenhas, head of the European Commission representation in Sweden will introduce the seminar, followed by a presentation by H-E. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Heimsoeth, Germany's ambassador to Sweden.

Comments will be provided by Carsten Schmiester, ARD radio correspondent , Ingrid Thörnqvist, senior foreign news editor SVT News and Dr. Thomas Sommerer, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science Stockholm University.
